About Hing Lung Asian Food Center
Located at 1301 Broadway, Sacramento, CA 95818, Hing Lung Asian Food Center operates as an asian grocery store serving Sacramento in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as japanese grocery store, supermarket, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Sacramento with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in California may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 9 amβ6 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Hing Lung Asian Food Center at (916) 448-4397; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
With 3.9 out of 5 on Google from 353 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for asian grocery stores in Sacramento. Recent reviews are the best guide.
Sacramento is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Sacramento is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

they had rude customer service and awful first-time experience. cashier expected us to know how to read chinese and put a misleading price label on a box filled with the wrong product. tried to charge us way more than advertised, then blamed us for not knowing how to read chinese. donβt come here and put your business elsewhere. itβs very cramped as well.

I stopped by this store because I was hungry and happened to be nearby. What I saw was extremely concerning. In my opinion, this establishment should be inspected immediately. The conditions appeared unsanitary, filthy, and unsafe for food preparation and service. I observed what appeared to be major food safety violations, including potential cross-contamination of cooked foods, improperly stored food items, missing labels, and labels written only in Chinese. There were no visible allergy warnings, no clear temperature controls for prepared foods, and several apparent food storage violations. I was also concerned about pricing practices and the overall cleanliness of the facility. Based on my experience, I would not recommend eating here until these issues are addressed.

Hing Lung Asian Food Center is a fantastic neighborhood staple. However, shopping here requires a bit of patience and strategy. "βThe Good"- Selection, reasonable price, live seafood, and Tuesday Specials The biggest draw here is the incredible variety. They stock a wide range of Asian grocery items, specialized sauces, and fresh vegetables that can be hard to find elsewhere. Their seafood section is a major highlight, featuring everything from essential cooking ingredients to live lobsters. βIf you want the best bang for your buck, Tuesday is the day to visit. They run great specials on their hot food and roasted meats (the roasted duck and pork are highly recommended). "βThe Bad"- Layout, Parking, and Long Lines While the inventory is excellent, the shopping experience itself can be stressful. The storeβs layout and presentation are poorly designed and poorly managed. The aisles are narrow, space is incredibly limited, and it frequently gets crowded, making it difficult to navigate your shopping cart.

Donβt buy their frozen food. I bought their ε°η¬Όε οΌ soup dumplings. 2/3 are out of shapes or stuck together. My guess is they were thawed during transportation and refrozen. They are not fit to eat. They refused to refund. Will never go back again. The store is messy and dirty as well. I usually bought veggies over there on my way to gym. Wonβt do it anymore. Cheap food costs!!! I threw away $5 something.

Asian Food Center is one of the oldest Chinese markets in Sacramento. I think almost no Chinese in sacrament have never shopped here for their wide range of Chinese groceries. The store is big, not like supermarket size. But big enough to carry most of the items for the Chinese kitchen. The meats and vegetables here are fresh. I love their Chinese BBQ. The roasted duck, roasted pork, and BBQ pork are my favorites. The cashiers are fast and accurate. I hardly found any errors on my bills. But the store is cash only. No credit card! This is a little inconvenient!
